[Tech]Blog Structure

You have just arrived to my quiet domain, seeking refuge from the chaotic cyberspace around you, and see all sorts of tags and seemingly structured posts. As you try to make sense of it all you ask in desperation, “what does it all mean and is it of any benefit to me?”

The answer is, “yes.”

Every post is structured into seven parts.

The Title:
This includes the tag (see below); it lets you know what the post is about

The Topic:
This is generally a news story or some other piece of information from which the post is based.

The Big Picture: question
This lays the ground work for “why do I care about the topic?”

Skip it!
This is a handy link to the point of the whole post. This is a must for you speed readers (or if you just don't have time or maybe interest). This can also be very useful for certain types of posts, such as ramblers (just skip all talk and get to the meat).

The Big Picture: answers (supporting details)
This gives you (hopefully unbiased) information from various angles about the subject matter. Depending on what the subject is: the detail and approach (angle of discussion) of this section will very greatly.

My thoughts
This is well... what I have to say.

The point of the whole post:
Summary and conclusion (wow nifty how that works) of the entire post. What I want you to get out of it, or what do I want you to think about?

Tags:

You may have noticed the words enclosed in brackets at the beginning of every post's title and body. This is a tag to let you know what to expect from the post and sometimes even variations in the structure of the post. I will list the tags here, though I will probably add more in the future.

[Rambler]-This means the post is only partially about the topic (generally something of interest such as news) at the beginning of the post and instead uses it as a sort of jumping off point into another line of thinking.

[CSA?]-This stands for “common sense anyone?” basically its about something that I view as ridiculous. Though it might not literally pertain to something that is not common sense.

[JTF]-This stands for “just the facts.” It occurs when I want to set something straight; though ofcourse this doesn't mean I won't be adding my opinion in at the end.

[OGC]-This stands for “Of Grave Concern” and is of a very serious nature. This is generally about national security.

[Misc]-This stands for “miscellaneous” and you guessed it; it means I didn't have any other tag to stick it under.

[Curious]- This tag means the subject is simply of interest and covers a wide range of subjects. The difference between this and [Misc] is that curious is generally light hearted and of no serious ramification (if I decide to talk about some new technology simply because I think it is cool).

[Tech]-This tag is applied in a post is not really a blog but rather a notice of anything dealing with the blog directly. This is for notices about technical changes or to let you know I won't be updating for awhile or something. This post is a good example...
